Dr. Paul Mackie is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of British Columbia and is funded by the Michael Smith Health Research BC (Canada). He has a PhD in Physiotherapy (Australia) and a background in exercise and health (UK). His Postdoctoral research is investigating the effects of a remotely delivered seated exercise program on balance and mobility in those living with a chronic stroke and mobility impairment. His PhD focused on the dose-response effects of interrupting prolonged sitting time on blood pressure and glucose response in those with stroke. He is also the chair of the BC Stroke Network and co-chair of the ISPAH Sedentary Behaviour Council, which is currently focusing on identifying sedentary behaviour patterns in those with a chronic condition.
