You must register and pay via each conference’s website
- To be eligible for the discounted rate, participants must complete registration for both Congresses. Registration may be completed in either order; as long as you are registered for both Congresses, you will remain eligible for the discounted rate. Eligibility will be confirmed through cross-checked registration validation between the two Congresses. This verification must be completed by the relevant deadline—April 24 to receive the early-bird discounted rate, or prior to the start of Congress. If we are unable to confirm registration in both Congresses, you will be contacted and required to pay the full, non-discounted registration rate before the Congress begins.
Registration Procedure
Step 1: Register for the Conference and Pre-conference workshops

Please note, all congress & workshop registrations are subject to 5% GST as per the government of Canada and are listed in Canadian dollars.
Cancellation Policy:
All cancellations must be received in writing. The amount paid less a $75 + GST processing fee will be refunded for cancellations emailed prior to April 23, 2026. Following this date, no refunds will be issued.
Transfer Policy:
There will be a charge of $75 + GST to transfer a registration to another person. Transfer requests must be made by April 23, 2026. Following this date, no transfer will be issued.
Photography Policy:
By your presence at the Canadian Stroke Congress, May 24-25, 2026 you consent to be photographed and/or filmed. The Canadian Stroke Congress reserves the right to use photographs and videos taken during the event for promotional and educational purposes, including publications, website content, and social media. However, the Canadian Stroke Congress will make reasonable efforts to provide credit to the individuals being photographed wherever possible. By participating in the congress, attendees grant the Canadian Stroke Congress the right to capture their likeness in photographs and videos for the aforementioned purposes, without any compensation. If you do not want your picture taken while you are presenting your poster or platform, it is your responsibility to inform the photographer.
Step 2: Apply for travel awards
Travel awards will be available to apply for on the registration portal. These are available for Early Career Researchers and Trainees attending and presenting at the Canadian Stroke Congress.
Deadline March 26th, notification of award March 30th.
EARLY CAREER RESEARCHER (ECR) – 5 awards available
An Early Career Researcher (ECR) is an individual who is within five (5) years of their first independent academic or research appointment, excluding eligible career interruptions (e.g., parental leave, medical leave). ECRs may hold positions such as Assistant Professor, Clinician-Scientist, Research Scientist, or equivalent early-stage independent roles.
TRAINEE – 5 awards available
A Trainee is an individual currently enrolled in a formal training program, including: undergraduate students, graduate students (Master’s or PhD), postdoctoral fellows, medical students, residents or clinical fellows, or other supervised research trainees. The trainee must be actively enrolled or appointed in a recognized training program at the time of the Congress.
VERIFICATION OF STATUS FOR TRAVEL AWARDS
Applicants selected for travel awards may be required to provide documentation to verify their status (e.g., letter from supervisor, institutional appointment letter, proof of enrollment, or equivalent documentation). Failure to provide verification upon request may result in ineligibility for the award.
Step 3: Book your Accommodation
Book your accommodation in Banff early as there are a limited number of rooms at the discounted rate! We appreciate the support of the community in staying at the Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity as the Canadian Stroke Congress has financial commitments with the hotel which helps offset registration rates. Registration Category Definitions
PHYSICIAN/RESEARCHER
This category is for licensed physicians and independent researchers working in clinical, academic, or research settings. It includes staff physicians, clinician-scientists, faculty members, principal investigators, and independent research scientists who are not currently enrolled in a formal training program.
EARLY CAREER RESEARCHER (ECR)
An Early Career Researcher (ECR) is an individual who is within five (5) years of their first independent academic or research appointment, excluding eligible career interruptions (e.g., parental leave, medical leave). ECRs may hold positions such as Assistant Professor, Clinician-Scientist, Research Scientist, or equivalent early-stage independent roles.
HEALTH PROFESSIONAL
A Health Professional includes licensed or regulated healthcare providers as well as individuals working in health-related roles, including but not limited to: nurses, allied health professionals (e.g., physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, pharmacists, social workers, dietitians), health system administrators, clinical managers, research coordinators, research assistants, or other research or healthcare delivery or support professionals.
TRAINEE
A Trainee is an individual currently enrolled in a formal training program, including: undergraduate students, graduate students (Master’s or PhD), postdoctoral fellows, medical students, residents or clinical fellows, or other supervised research trainees. The trainee must be actively enrolled or appointed in a recognized training program at the time of the Congress.
PERSON WITH LIVED EXPERIENCE (PWLE) AND CAREGIVER
A Person With Lived Experience (PWLE) is an individual who has direct personal experience with stroke or cerebrovascular disease. This category also includes caregivers, family members, or care partners who provide or have provided care and support to a person affected by stroke.
VERIFICATION OF STATUS FOR DELEGATE CLASSIFICATION
We ask delegates to choose the most appropriate classification for their situation. Proof may be requested at anytime to provide documentation to verify status (e.g., letter from supervisor, institutional appointment letter, proof of enrolment or job title, or equivalent documentation). Failure to provide sufficient verification upon request may result in delegates being asked to change their registration status or removal from the Congress.
